China: Beijing Nan Shan School was created in September 2010 by a group of parents, teachers and Waldorf education enthusiasts. Its predecessor was Gong Sheng, Xiao Shu Yuan, which started in September 2009 with 9 children in class one. The school is located in the north suburban Changping District.

Currently, the School is composed of three departments: the grade school with three classes (classes one, two and seven) with 51 children in total, the kindergarten with two classes with 20 children (one class located in the urban area) and the training section (Beijing ZhiLiangZhi Educational Consulting) which organizes Waldorf teacher training programs and other related workshops.

The School’s vision is to grow into a complete Waldorf school with classes from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our mission is to provide an education that balances the students’ thinking, feeling and willing, as well as a platform for our teachers and parents to develop together.
