Something is beginning in Luxor …
In ancient times, the dead were buried on the western banks of the big, wide river Nile. In Luxor the most beautiful paintings and pictorial writings still bear witness to this period of blossoming cultural life by the Nile.
Today, eight highly motivated young women are working to give their children a new perspective for the future. On the fertile plain, before the desert towns begin, which used to be reserved for the dead, labor-intensive construction work is taking place amidst the fields. The goal is to build a Waldorf Kindergarten and a Waldorf School.
This school initiative is so different from the usual schools that it has attracted the attention of the school board, the neighbors, and even the minister of education. And it is hardly experiencing any disapproval, but rather a lot of curiosity, because everybody knows that school in general needs to change. The happiest ones are the children, who run to this school every morning, full of expectations.
