Waldorf in Greece
In September 2017, the first Greek Waldorf School started in Athens. The initiators fulfilled all of, especially legally, demanding requirements, found a building in the Athens district of Marousi and successfully converted it into a school. This was preceded by intensive discussions with kindergarten teachers and parents from the four Waldorf kindergartens in Athens. In the end Archontis Karanasios, a Waldorf alumnus, and Sandra Mavroidis, a Waldorf teacher of many years, together with some parents - professionals in various disciplines - took all of the risks and started. The teaching staff was expanded by interested young teachers and is growing together. With the beginning of the third school year in September 2019, all rooms are now occupied and preparations for the next stage of development are underway.
